Fortim is small enough to see at an easy pace, but there's enough to do to fill a full week. The right question isn't 'can I see it all in 3 days?' — it's 'what do I actually want from this trip?'
Three days are enough to take in Barra do Fortim at an easy pace, walk over to the Pontal de Maceió village, watch the Rio Jaguaribe meet the sea, and set aside an afternoon for one tour — a dune buggy ride or a first kitesurf lesson, for example.
It's a tight window to catch good tide conditions everywhere that depends on it (the Canto da Barra lagoons, the walk to Farol beach, the Pontal coves). Check the tide chart before deciding which day goes to which beach.
With five days, there's room for a boat trip along the Rio Jaguaribe on top of the three-day essentials. It's also enough time to try more than one buggy driver or kite school, and to work through the local food scene without repeating a restaurant.

A full week leaves room to set aside at least one day with no plan at all — just beach, hammock and the slow pace that fits a fishing village. It's also enough time to go back to your favorite beach, try the Rio Jaguaribe ferry crossing, and eat at more than one of Pontal's chef-driven restaurants.
